Jury Votes Execution for Murderer of 4 in Family
Jurors on Wednesday called for the execution of a Studio City motel owner who killed a rival and three of her relatives in a 2002 dispute over an alley between the killer’s property and hers.
Pravin “Peter†Govin, 35, was convicted last week in Los Angeles County Superior Court of murdering Universal City Inn co-owner Gita Kumar, 42; her son, Paras Kumar, 18; her daughter, Tulsi Kumar, 16; and her mother-in-law, Sitaben Patel, 63.
“The Kumar family can rest in peace,†said Gita Kumar’s husband, Harish Patel. Sentencing is scheduled for June 13.
