Bruce Springsteen will embark this month on his first solo tour in eight years, beginning a 34-date U.S. and European swing April 25 in Detroit.
The tour of theaters and scaled-down arenas includes concerts at the 2,700-seat Pantages Theatre in Hollywood on May 2 and 3. Tickets for those shows go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday at www.ticketmaster.com or at (213) 480-3232 or (714) 740-2000.
Springsteen’s only other California date will be May 5 in Oakland. More tour dates are expected to be announced for later in the year.
The launch coincides with the April 26 release of Springsteen’s 19th album, “Devils & Dust,” which has been described as “stripped down” and does not feature his E Street Band. His last solo tour was in 1996-97, in conjunction with his reflective “Ghost of Tom Joad” album.
