A man who allegedly attacked his former wife and her boyfriend Tuesday with a chain saw and set the woman on fire in her Lennox home was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
The unidentified woman ran out of the burning home with her clothing in flames, said Sheriff’s Deputy Scott Gage. She was hospitalized in critical condition with cuts on her torso and burns over 90% of her body.
Her boyfriend, who also had fled the home, was treated for cuts on his upper body.
The attack occurred at about 10:30 a.m. in the 10500 block of Burin Avenue.
The ex-husband, Carlos Hernandez Romo, 36, was arrested at the scene.
Authorities said Romo had used a gas-powered chain saw in the attack.
He was booked at the Lennox jail, with bail set at $750,000.
