Get Another Day Job
My number is on all of the no-call lists (“The Last Days of Telemarketing,†by Denny Dormody, Essay, Aug. 29). This isn’t because you were interrupting my dinner, Denny. It’s because you were insulting my intelligence with intrusive, patronizing pitches every time you managed to connect. Tell you what--I won’t blame you or your colleague Beth for feeling entitled to “wink†and tell admitted lies to the more vulnerable “Mrs. Slowbotnicks†of the world (for whatever pay you can get) if you won’t blame me for my aversion to your cynicism and contempt for your day job choice.
