A sweet farewell

If we had to lose Ray Charles, I couldn’t imagine a sweeter, more poignant goodbye than the CD “Genius Loves Company� (“Ray Charles Turns Finale Into a Party,� by Randy Lewis, Aug. 31). Every selection has its own special magic, but the duet with Johnny Mathis on “Over the Rainbow� deserves to be heard by everyone, everywhere. And “It Was a Very Good Year� with Willie Nelson will put a lump in your throat the size of Chicago.
