CHP Reports Increase in Holiday Fatalities

There were 56 traffic deaths over the long Thanksgiving weekend in California, an increase over last year, the California Highway Patrol said Monday.
The traffic deaths were reported between 6 p.m. Wednesday and 11:59 p.m. Sunday, the CHP said. There were 47 traffic fatalities during the 102-hour period in 2003.
