* Sun Microsystems Inc. has agreed to buy closely held Ashburn, Va.-based SevenSpace Inc., adding to Sun’s managed services offerings. Terms weren’t disclosed.
* J.M. Smucker Co. said it planned to close a California processing plant in Salinas and cut other U.S. jobs as part of restructuring efforts. Smucker said work at the Salinas plant, set to close by the end of 2005, would be moved to Orrville, Ohio, and Memphis, Tenn. The Salinas plant, in operation since 1961, employs 180 people.
