Cab Driver Suspected of Raping Drunk Rider
From Times Staff Reports
A cab driver has been arrested on suspicion of raping an intoxicated female passenger in his car, officials said Wednesday.
Rodney Cornell Carter, 42, of Cathedral City is being held at Orange County Jail on $100,000 bail.
Authorities say the rape occurred about 11:50 p.m. Tuesday after the 36-year-old woman left a bar. Her friends called a cab to have her taken to a friend’s home on Wallace Street, police said.
The woman was found in the back of the cab with her pants down and unaware of the alleged rape, police said.
