Fox Theater Rescue Effort Gains a Day

Fullerton preservationists raising money to save the Fox Theatre received a day’s extension Monday and now have until Wednesday morning to reach their goal.
After a weekend that brought in about $50,000 in pledges, preservationists still fell short, said Jane Reifer of the Fullerton Historic Theatre Foundation.
The Fox Theatre owner is asking about $3.5 million for the building at Harbor Boulevard and Chapman Avenue. The city has pledged $1.6 million.
Pledges and contributions are being collected at the foundation office and at the theater.
