Cure’s in the festival spirit
Fresh off its appearance at the Coachella festival last week, the Cure will headline its own traveling festival this summer. The English band’s Curiosa Festival, which begins July 24 in Florida and ends Aug. 27 at a Los Angeles venue still to be determined, will also include performances by Interpol, the Rapture and Mogwai, plus a second stage featuring Muse, Melissa Auf der Maur and others. Tickets will go on sale in June.
And the revived Lollapalooza festival now has a Los Angeles-area stop: July 22-23 at the Ventura County Fairgrounds. The lineup for the first day includes the Pixies, Morrissey, Sonic Youth, PJ Harvey and Modest Mouse, while the second day features the String Cheese Incident, the Flaming Lips, Wilco and others.
The on-sale date for tickets will be announced in late May.
