Lawsuit Against Boeing Is Withdrawn

A private El Segundo company withdrew a lawsuit it filed against Boeing Co. for allegedly stealing its idea for backup rental satellites, a Boeing spokesman said.

AssureSat Inc., a firm started by former executives of Hughes Space & Communications, lost key financing last year and went out of business. It then filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court claiming Boeing had stolen trade secrets from the firm.

Boeing acquired Hughes’ satellite business in 2000.
