Motorbike Rider Dies After Accident With Van
HUNTINGTON BEACH
The 20-year-old driver of a small motorbike died Sunday morning at Western Medical Center-Santa Ana, hours after he was hit by a van on Pacific Coast Highway, Huntington Beach police said.
The accident occurred shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday, when a 19-year-old Ontario man in a white van crashed into the bike at Brookhurst Street and Pacific Coast Highway, police said.
The victim, whose name was not released, died about 9:30 a.m. Sunday, police said.
The highway was shut down for several hours as police investigated.
The driver of the van has not been cited and police said there is no indication the accident was alcohol-related.
