A 15-year-old boy died Sunday morning and four companions were injured when their open-top Jeep overturned on a dirt road, authorities said.
The crash occurred about five miles north of the Ronald Reagan Freeway, near Browns Canyon Road, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey.
The boy who died was trapped under the vehicle. Four other boys, including the 16-year-old driver, were hospitalized with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries, Humphrey said. Authorities did not release the boys’ names.
