Robinson, Expos Agree on New Deal
Frank Robinson agreed to terms on a one-year contract to manage the Montreal Expos for a third season in 2004, Major League Baseball’s website reported.
Robinson, 68, said in November that he planned to return to the Expos this season. Financial terms of the agreement weren’t disclosed.
“I just felt that I deserved a little bit more [money],” Robinson told MLB.com.
“If I didn’t get the raise, it wouldn’t have been a big deal. But it feels good to be able to get what you think you deserve.”
Last season, the Expos contended for the National League wild-card berth before fading in September and finishing 83-79, their best record since the 1996 season.

Reliever Mark Wohlers of the Cleveland Indians has decided to take this season off for personal reasons, a decision that could signal the end of his career.
Wohlers, 34, underwent surgery on his right elbow last March and sat out the season.
