Pleasure Craft Rescues 10 From Burning Boat
From Times Staff Reports
The crew of a pleasure craft rescued 10 people from a vessel that caught fire Saturday just outside Los Angeles Harbor, authorities said.
A fire broke out on the boat about 1 1/2 miles beyond the breakwater about 2 p.m., when the crew of the 32-foot Rapture arrived and removed people from the burning craft, said Sandy Needle, of the U.S. Coast Guard.
An L.A. Fire Department boat eventually put out the blaze, but the boat was destroyed, Needle said.
