Chino Man Jailed in Attempted Kidnap

Police on Thursday arrested a man who allegedly grabbed two boys at a Yorba Linda restaurant and tried to coax them into his car.
William Vanderlinde, 34, of Chino was being held at Brea City Jail on suspicion of attempted kidnapping, among other charges.
Vanderlinde approached the boys, 12 and 13, at a restaurant in the 20000 block of Yorba Linda Boulevard about 5:15 p.m. Tuesday and tried to persuade them to look at a book in his car, police said.
He fled after the boys refused, police said.
