Attorney General Wary of Development Project

The state attorney general has expressed his concerns regarding plans for a development in a mountain valley south of here.
Atty. Gen. Bill Lockyer sent a letter to Placer County officials that said the Martis Valley Community Plan “embodies the opposite of smart growth.”
The plan could bring more than 6,000 new homes to the area between Truckee and Lake Tahoe.
Lockyer said the plan fails to adequately assess potential environmental impacts to Tahoe.
