Officer Is Rear-Ended on Freeway; Driver Held

A California Highway Patrol officer helping a stalled hearse on the Riverside Freeway suffered moderate injuries Monday after his car was hit by a suspected drunk driver.
Officer D. Bradshaw was treated at a hospital and released following the crash just east of Glassell Avenue.
He was in his patrol car about 1 p.m. when it was rear-ended by a pickup truck driven by Mike Lopez. Lopez, 39, was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of alcohol.
