Many of the 10 thoroughbreds who will compete in tonight’s first race, a $2,000 claimer at 4 1/2 furlongs, are no strangers to the winner’s circle.

Six of the veterans have won at least five races during their careers, topped by 10 victories from Wayne’s Choice.

A gelded son of Clever Trick, Wayne’s Choice will be trying to turn things around tonight. He gets a positive post change, moving from the outside to the inside.

Trained by Jesus Nunez, Wayne’s Choice has been well beaten in his last four starts since winning on Feb. 28.

None of the entrants, in fact, are coming off wins. Tam’s Nitemare, a five-time winner, and seven-time winner Flight Zone were second in their most recent races.

Relative Strength, Power Failure, Sulton’s Glass, Direct Investment, Rocket Ricky, Wired To Win and Alnbill complete the field.
