Re “Legislators Unite to Derail Primary Initiative,” June 22: Here we go again. If I suggested that National Rifle Assn. members be allowed to vote in Sierra Club elections and vice versa, you’d say I’m nuts. Yet we discuss allowing nonmembers to vote in a political party’s internal election, which we call a “primary,” with a straight face.
