More Than 50 Arrested in Narcotics Crackdown
A man alleged to be a Colombian cocaine kingpin and more than 50 suspected drug traffickers have been arrested on U.S. drug and money-laundering charges, capping an effort to stem the flow of drugs through the Caribbean to the United States.
A federal grand jury indictment charges Elias Cobos- Munoz and 20 associates with trafficking from Colombia’s northern coast. A second indictment in Miami charges 21 members of a Bahamas-based drug transportation ring that authorities say moved the drugs to the United States and Canada. Other arrests have occurred in the last few days.
