Chavez Opponents March for Referendum

From Times Wire Reports
Tens of thousands of opponents of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez marched in Caracas to demand that a referendum be held before Aug. 19 so that a victory could conclusively oust him and his government.
Chanting anti-Chavez slogans, blowing whistles and waving national flags, the demonstrators rallied to celebrate last week’s triggering of a recall vote.
If the referendum is held after Aug. 19 and Chavez loses, his vice president -- a loyal supporter -- will take over until elections in December 2006.
