Diamondbacks End Giant Streak at 10

Luis Gonzalez singled home Scott Hairston in the ninth inning Tuesday night at Phoenix to give the Arizona Diamondbacks a 6-5 victory over San Francisco, stopping the Giants’ 10-game winning streak.

Steve Finley hit two home runs to tie Albert Pujols for the major league lead with 16, and the Diamondbacks won for only the third time in 13 games.

Hairston hit his second home run in as many nights, and third in the 13 games he has played since being called up from triple-A Tucson.

Hairston and Finley homered on consecutive pitches from Scott Eyre to tie it at 5-5 in the seventh after the Giants had rallied for four runs in the top of the inning to go up 5-3.

St. Louis 8, Pittsburgh 1 -- Albert Pujols homered and had two doubles among his five hits and drove in three runs, and Jeff Suppan pitched into the eighth inning to lead the Cardinals at Pittsburgh. Cardinal third baseman Scott Rolen left the game for precautionary reasons after being hit in the helmet on a first-inning pitch by Ryan Vogelsong.

Colorado 7, San Diego 1 -- Charles Johnson doubled three times and drove in four runs to help the Rockies earn their first consecutive road victories of the season. Johnson had five doubles in a row over two nights, one short of the major league record.

Cincinnati 7, Florida 6 -- Adam Dunn hit two home runs, including a tiebreaker in the 10th inning, and Ken Griffey Jr. homered for the third time in five games to lead the Reds at Miami.

New York 4, Philadelphia 1 -- Todd Zeile hit a tying solo homer in the eighth and a go-ahead run-scoring single in the 10th to lead the Mets at Philadelphia. Braden Looper got three outs in the 10th for his ninth save in 10 chances.

Atlanta 7, Montreal 6 -- Rookie Nick Green hit a three-run homer, and J.D. Drew followed with another home run in the ninth inning to lead the Braves at Atlanta.

Houston 5, Chicago 3 -- Pinch-hitter Michael Lamb had a go-ahead double in the eighth inning to lead the Astros at Chicago.
