Shooter’s Brother Is Also Dead
A third family member has died after an argument at an Anaheim Hills home this week escalated into a murder-suicide that left a mother and two sons dead.
Thomas Vang, 24, died at 7 p.m. Thursday at UCI Medical Center in Orange, Orange County coroner’s officials said Friday.
Saying they need to talk further with family members, police have declined to say why they think Patrick Vang, 27, shot his brother and mother Wednesday before setting their two-story house on fire and fatally shooting himself.
A 21-year-old sister, Angela Vang, heard the shots below her and escaped by leaping from a second-story window. She suffered minor injuries. The mother, Sieu H. Vang, 47, died Wednesday night.
The house, which was in foreclosure and had been sold the morning of the crime, sustained an estimated $65,000 of damage, authorities said.
The father, Linsene Vang, and a second sister were not home at the time. The family remains in seclusion and has not released information on funeral arrangements.
