Moses Gets His Third Swim Win

BERLIN —  Yu Yang set a short-course world record in the 200-meter butterfly, and American Ed Moses won his third race at a World Cup meet Sunday.

The 18-year-old Yu was timed in 2 minutes 4.04 seconds, 0.12 seconds faster than the record set by Susan O’Neil on Jan. 18, 2000, in Sydney, Australia.

Moses won the 100-meter breaststroke in 58.23 seconds, well off the record of 57.47. Moses, who won the 50-meter breaststroke and set a world record of 2:02.92 in the 200 on Saturday, was named the two-day meet’s outstanding swimmer and earned $25,000.

Malia Metella overtook Jenny Thompson in the final strokes to win the women’s 100 freestyle, winning in 53.30. Thompson was timed in 53.49.
