State Seeks a Larger Cut of Tribes’ Gaming Take
Re “Tribes Rap Gov.’s Call to Share Profit,” Jan. 15:
Governments don’t tax other governments? If Anthony Miranda, chairman of the California Indian Nations Gaming Assn., expects the people of the state of California to continue doing business with CINGA, then I suggest he shut his mouth and open his books before he and others in the Indian gaming industry find out just how well they’d fare as a Third World country without First World aid.

Miranda states, “Tribes are governments. Governments don’t tax other governments.” If that is the case, he should be reminded that governments do not contribute to other governments’ political campaigns either, at least legally.
