Wal-Mart Wins When Rivals Fail
Because of the blood and sweat of offshore workers, Wal-Mart Stores Inc. makes huge profit on its general merchandise, allowing it to give away toys at below-cost prices, resulting in the bankruptcy filing of FAO, Zany Brainy, Imaginarium and now the closing of 500 KB Toys Inc. stores (“KB Toys Files for Chap. 11 Bankruptcy,” Jan. 15).
Getting rid of the competition will certainly allow Wal-Mart to raise prices on toys next year.
When will people begin to realize that the very people that Wal-Mart caters to are cutting their own throats?
