Navarro Plans to Resume Its Season

Navarro College has canceled today’s home game at Corsicana, Texas, against Blinn College, but will continue the rest of the season after a van crash killed two players.

School spokesman Paul Smith said a decision was made Friday to continue the season, starting with Wednesday night’s game against Lon Morris College.

An 18-wheeler struck a team van after a game Monday night at Paris (Texas) Junior College, killing Pa Sarr, 21, and Jason Rashard Trier, 18. Five other players and two coaches were injured. Four players remain hospitalized.
