5 Arrested in Suspected Meth Lab Operation
From Times Wire Reports
Five men were arrested Saturday in connection with the largest methamphetamine lab bust of the year, authorities said.
The five were arrested after agents found more than 60 pounds of pure ephedrine and 96 pounds of red phosphorous -- ingredients in methamphetamine -- in a house that the agents had been watching for a week.
“This is the biggest lab found in the state this year, and the biggest ever in Stanislaus County,†said Tom Letras, spokesman for the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department.
