Port Hueneme Teen Identified as Car Crash Victim

A Port Hueneme resident who was killed in a rain-related crash this week near Camarillo was identified Tuesday as Marcelino Salvador-Duran.
Salvador-Duran, 17, died on impact Monday afternoon in a crash involving three vehicles on Lewis Road near Cawelti Road. He was a passenger with three other family members who were injured, authorities said.
Driver Demetrio Duran, 21, of Port Hueneme was allegedly speeding on the rain-slicked road when he tried to pass another driver and lost control, California Highway Patrol officials said.
Duran, who was not arrested, could face criminal charges at the conclusion of an investigation, authorities said.
