So Clear Channel is expanding the reach of its culture as “product” idea into the fine arts.
It’s ironic that The Times should unwittingly endorse this approach by failing to give the name of the artist whose painting “Pool Party” illustrates the article (“Clear Channel’s Cultural Plunge Brings Mixed Reviews,” by Mike Boehm, Aug. 24). It’s John Valadez. Would this mistake have happened if the painter had been, say, Lari Pittman?
