DreamWorks COO Hahn to Step Down
DreamWorks SKG said Helene Hahn would step down from her position as chief operating officer.
Hahn, who will serve as a consultant to DreamWorks for a year, will continue in her role until the company names a replacement, DreamWorks said. Hahn began working with DreamWorks co-founder Jeffrey Katzenberg almost 30 years ago when both were employed at Paramount Pictures.
With the pending $650-million initial share sale of the animation unit of Universal City-based DreamWorks, Hahn would have had to divide her duties between two companies. She has been splitting her time between Hollywood and Utah, where she maintains her primary residence.
Daily Variety reported on its website that Rick Sands, chief operating officer of Walt Disney Co.’s Miramax Films unit, was in talks with DreamWorks to take the COO position.
