‘Late Late’ nights over for Kilborn
After more than five years of entertaining night owls still watching TV after David Letterman signed off, Craig Kilborn does his final stint as host of “The Late Late Show” on CBS tonight. His last show (starting at 12:37 a.m.) will feature appearances by Will Ferrell, Vince Vaughn, Marlee Matlin, Martin Mull, Adam West and Wayne Newton.
Kilborn said two weeks ago that he was leaving to write and produce for television. A replacement has not been named. CBS said it will air repeats for three weeks, then bring in a series of guest hosts beginning Sept. 20.
Kilborn, former host of Comedy Central’s “Daily Show,” took over the “Late Late” job in March 1999, replacing Tom Snyder.
