Backward Transit
Re “L.A. Looking Into Return of Downtown Trolley Line,” Aug. 19: A trolley makes sense for Main Street at Disneyland. As transportation for downtown Los Angeles, it would be another expensive joke on the taxpayers, like the other trolley lines that are pretending to be a mass transit system for the 21st century.
Our transit officials should go to Tomorrowland and look at the monorail that is now more than 40 years old. There is a city in Germany with a monorail system that is more than 100 years old. A transit system that is not grade-separated from surface traffic is not fit for the 21st century.
