Toss Them a Bone Too
I was really heartened to read about the Los Angeles City Council’s concern for the dog population (“Pet Owners Could Be in the Doghouse,” Aug. 19).
Although I’m all for providing our furry friends with up-to-code doggie housing, complete with comfortable bedding, could we spare a thought for our human friends? You know, the people who live out of rusted cars and cardboard boxes, and through (often) no fault of their own are forced to depend on handouts for daily sustenance?
