New Flightless Bird Is Found in the Philippines

Scientists have found a new species of flightless bird on Calayan Island in the Philippines, the conservation group BirdLife International said Tuesday.
The rare find is dramatic because flightless birds on small islands are especially vulnerable to human activities. The crow-size bird has a bright red beak and legs and dark plumage.
