Casitas Springs Standoff Ends
A Casitas Springs woman was taken into custody Friday after barricading herself inside her mobile home with a shotgun.
The woman, whose identity was not available, had reported a burglary and possible rape.
When deputies arrived in the 8900 block of Nye Road at 11:40 a.m., the woman came to her door with the weapon, said Erik Nishimoto, a Ventura County Sheriff’s Department spokesman.
The deputies retreated and called for backup.
Within a half hour, department negotiators, other patrol deputies and the SWAT team had arrived.
She was taken into custody about 7:30 p.m. without incident, authorities said.
