A Santa Ana woman was killed Friday when her car was broadsided in an Irvine intersection, police said.
Nhung Nguyen, 33, was headed east on Alton Parkway about 6:30 a.m. when her car collided with a vehicle traveling south on Culver Drive, Irvine Police Sgt. Wally Prestidge said. Authorities believe one of the vehicles ran a red light. Nguyen died at Irvine Regional Hospital and Medical Center.
Prestidge said the impact of the crash pushed Nguyen’s car into two others. None of the other drivers was badly injured, he said.
No one was cited in the accident, Prestidge said, and the cause did not appear to be speed, alcohol or drugs.
Anyone who saw the accident is asked to call (949) 724-7024.
