Pregnant Woman Dies in Crash

A pregnant 42-year-old Pasadena woman died in a four-vehicle crash on the Ventura Freeway on Thursday, the California Highway Patrol said.
Barbara Scollard was a passenger in a Honda that was forced to the right shoulder of the westbound Ventura Freeway east of the southbound Glendale Freeway after another car changing lanes to the right struck the Honda shortly before 2 p.m., the CHP said.
The Honda was forced into the dirt embankment and overturned.
Craig H. Scollard, 45, the Honda’s driver, was taken to Huntington Memorial Hospital with major injuries. Barbara Scollard was 26 weeks pregnant, the CHP said.
Two other vehicles were also involved, but no one was seriously injured. No one was arrested.
