West Nile Suspected in Deaths of 50 Songbirds

Health officials suspect that the death of more than 50 songbirds in a Tomales woman’s yard in recent weeks could have been caused by the West Nile virus.
Anna Jensen, 72, has been feeding about 150 of the birds for two years. Her son took 14 birds that died last weekend to the Marin-Sonoma Mosquito and Vector Control district for testing, authorities said.
