NFL picks new halftime team
The National Football League, embarrassed by this year’s Janet Jackson-Justin Timberlake fiasco at the Super Bowl, is handing off responsibilities for its halftime entertainment to a small New York production company that has produced the Tony Awards.
White Cherry will be organizing entertainment for the “NFL Opening Kickoff” on Sept. 9 in Jacksonville, Fla. The company reportedly has hand-picked all acts and is holding them to new standards for the content of their performances.
No ripped bustiers or sensational lyrics are expected from the entertainers: Mary J. Blige, Destiny’s Child, Elton John, Toby Keith, Lenny Kravitz and Jessica Simpson.
