From a Times Staff Writer
Containment was expected today of a wildfire that broke out Monday near Wrightwood and briefly threatened about 75 homes, fire officials said.
Six homes were evacuated Monday afternoon, but all the residents were allowed to return at nightfall.
Officials said the blaze had blackened about 85 acres of timber and brush and forced the closure of the Angeles Crest Highway between Highway 138 and Desert Front Road.
A fire near Hemet was controlled Monday morning after charring about 350 acres and destroying three outbuildings.
