Some hotel points programs do work

I disagree with the premise that hotel loyalty programs don’t work well (“It’s Tough to Be True to a Hotel Chain, Even if There’s a Reward,” Travel Insider, July 18). Some point programs do work well and allow you to build up value over time. I just enjoyed two free nights at the Hilton near the Champs-Elysees in Paris.
Not all hotel programs are created equal. Like everything else, it’s buyer beware.
