After three wins in three career starts, Souvenir Gift will finally be less than 4-1 for co-owner and trainer Sam Semkin.

A 2-year-old daughter of Souvenir Copy, Souvenir Gift is the 7-5 second choice in today’s $150,000 Sorrento Stakes at Del Mar.

After breaking her maiden at 9-2 going two furlongs at Santa Anita on April 14, Souvenir Gift, who was bred in Kentucky by Betty Mabee, won the Cinderella at 7-1, then was 4-1 in the Landaluce on July 5 at Hollywood Park.

In the Sorrento, a Grade II at 6 1/2 furlongs, Souvenir Gift will have to beat Inspiring, the 6-5 morning line favorite who was impressive in her career debut the same day Souvenir Gift was winning the Landaluce.

Owned by Bob and Beverly Lewis and trained by Bob Baffert, Inspiring will be ridden by David Flores.

Race of the day: Bare Necessities, the defending champion, heads a field of six fillies and mares in the $200,000 Gardenia Handicap at Ellis Park. Rene Douglas will ride the 5-year-old Silver Deputy mare for the Iron County Farms, Inc. and trainer Wally Dollase in the Grade III at 1 1/8 miles.
