Authorities Investigate Needle Found in Food
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
Police and health inspectors are investigating claims that a man punctured his lip on a hypodermic needle that was inside his McDonald’s hamburger.
Police Sgt. Bill Dobberstein said a needle tip and part of a plastic syringe were found in a hamburger when police inspected it last week.
The officer confiscated the needle and the hamburger. The man with the bleeding lip went to Redwood Memorial Hospital for treatment. The owner of the Fortuna McDonald’s said her employees are cooperating with the police investigation.
