Outfielder Larry Walker of the Colorado Rockies discovered the body of an unidentified man Sunday on his property near Evergreen, Colo.
Walker called the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office after spotting the body while he was riding an all-terrain vehicle in the mountain community west of Denver, said sheriff’s spokeswoman Jacki Tallman.
The body was in a wooded area near a trail and not near Walker’s home, Tallman said.
“Mr. Walker is not a suspect,” she said. “We don’t know if the person was killed at the site or if his body was dumped there.”
Walker is on the disabled list and not traveling with the team.

The New York Mets signed free-agent pitcher Ricky Bottalico to a minor league contract and assigned him to triple-A Norfolk (Va.) of the International League.
Bottalico, 34, spent spring training with the Mets and was cut before the team broke camp for the start of the season.
Last year, he had a 2-2 record with a 3.66 earned-run average for Tucson of the Pacific Coast League.
