A 58-year-old man was fatally injured Friday morning in Garden Grove when two steel plates fell off a trailer and crushed him, authorities said.
The man was attempting to lower the plates, weighing 2,000 pounds each, from a trailer at American Metal Bearing Co. in the 7000 block of Acacia Avenue when they fell on him, police said.
David Cronin of Riverside was pronounced dead at the scene. The coroner’s office is investigating the death as an industrial accident.
