Man Riding Scooter Slams Into Car, Dies

A man on a motor scooter died after he ran into a car, officials said Monday.
Lars Hoglund, 59, of Huntington Beach, died from head injuries Sunday, shortly after the 5:40 p.m. accident, police said.
Hoglund was riding his scooter on Pacific Coast Highway near 1st Street in Huntington Beach when he crashed into a car driven by Jonathan Hadnot, 19, of Carson, said Officer Robert Barr.
Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, and no arrests were made, pending an investigation, Barr said.
