Faces of the Recall

Since August, Times staff photographer Brian Vander Brug has traveled the state photographing candidates in the recall election. Vander Brug gave each one the opportunity to bring a prop or adopt a pose symbolizing his or her candidacy. The candidates also provided short statements, excerpts of which accompany their pictures. These photographs are part of a series of portraits of candidates in the California recall election.
