The object is to stretch the range of flexibility

If you remember to do this hamstring stretch after exercise or any sports activity, your legs gradually will become more flexible and you’ll have a better range of motion.
*
1 Stand facing a stability ball, fence railing or countertop. Place your left leg on the ball and make sure your standing leg is straight. As you inhale, press through your left heel, straightening your left knee.
2 With your hip bones facing the left foot, exhale and begin to bend forward at your hips. Try to keep your chest lifted and spine straight. (A common mistake is to round your back as you bring your forehead to the knee.) Hold this position and breathe deeply for 30 seconds; keep both legs straight. Slowly release and repeat with the other leg.
